We finished our first prototype, and just want to show you what it looks like. This is a scale model, the life-size versions will be available in various sizes, mainly 20′ from ground to the base of the petals. Meanwhile, enjoy this sneak peek of a miniature Rainflower planted in a garden. The rainflower can then fill a cistern below ground which can be used to keep the pond and plants watered all summer. During heavy rains, the pond can work as an overflow chamber for the cistern.
The prototype is copper because it patinas so nicely. Rainflowers will also be available in aluminum. We look forward to meeting you at the USGBC’s Water Conservation Showcase on Tuesday!
